Assistant Executive Director
Bethany joined Ecumen in 2004 as a staff nurse. She went on to serve as a Nurse Manager, MDS Coordinator and, in 2011, came to Ecumen Scenic Shores as our Director of Nursing.
Her heart has always been in nursing even as a child, when she volunteered regularly at the local nursing home with her family. She has continued this tradition with her own family as well, which includes her husband, two step-daughters, two sons, a daughter, and a granddaughter. Bethany loves to spend time with her family, travel, and write poetry.
Mary has been part of the Ecumen Scenic Shores work-family for nearly 30 years. She is a Certified Dietary Manager and Food Protection Professional with ServSafe® Certification. Mary particularly enjoys planning and preparing special events and parties for our residents and their families.
Mary is married with a teenage son. Her hobbies include watching her son play for the Two Harbors High School Agates football team, and travelling and camping with family and friends.
Life Enrichment Supervisor
Beth has extensive experience working in the field of long-term care and holds many certifications: she’s a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA); National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP)-certified Modular Education Program for Activity Professionals (MEPAP) instructor with a specialty in Leisure Management and Activities; and a certified Group Fitness Instructor. She joined our Care Center team in 2015 as an Activity Assistant, and was promoted to Life Enrichment Supervisor for all of Scenic Shores in 2016. Beth is a lifelong learner herself and continues to take courses and study issues relevant to the advancement of senior care and senior living.
Gail Gellerstedt, LSW
Gail is a licensed social worker, having graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Superior with a BS in Social Work. She is also a certified Educational Assistant, with specialized training in validation therapy and gambling treatment. Gail began her career providing rehabilitation services to people with disabilities and traumatic brain injuries, as well as providing employment support services to economically disadvantaged individuals. But Gail discovered her true passion was working with seniors. She has worked in long-term care settings since 2003,and has been part of the Ecumen Scenic Shores team since 2015.
Gail is a lifelong resident of Duluth, with deep roots in Lake Superior, and a love of the outdoors and camping. A mother and grandmother, Gail enjoys spending time with her family and always looks forward to their dinners together most Friday nights.
RN Clinical Director, Assisted Living
Janelle is a registerd nurse, earning her Associates Degree in Nursing from Ridgewater College. She joined the Ecumen Scenic Shores Care Center team in 2014. In 2015 she was promoted to RN Clinical Director of our Assisted Living neighborhood. Janelle has a heart for caring for others and finds it a true pleasure to make a difference in the daily lives of our residents.
Janelle and her husband have a blended family of eight children that has happily grown to include two grandchildren. In her spare time, Janelle enjoys spending time with her family as well as her church “family,” camping, hiking, four-wheeling, and taking in everything the Northshore has to offer.
Keri joined Ecumen in 2001, first at Lakeshore in Duluth. She came to the Scenic Shores Care Center in 2004 and has made our business office her work home ever since.
When not at work Keri enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, camping, hiking, fishing, gardening and cooking. Keri also loves playing with her cats, rock hunting on the beautiful shores of Lake Superior, walking in 5Ks and cheering on her favorite football team the Denver Broncos.
Kristine joined Ecumen Scenic Shores in 2016 as our Housing Manager after spending many years in management roles within both senior living and the hotel industry. Kristine has a BA in Business Management from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth.
Kristine and her husband have two sons who attend college and play hockey in Southern Illinois. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, watching movies, spending time with family, and cheering on the Minnesota Wild hockey team.
Nurse Assessment Coordinator Care Center
Rebecca’s career in long-term care began in 1990, serving in a variety of nursing roles. She attended Lake Superior College, becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 1993, and a Registered Nurse (RN) in 2008. Prior to joining Ecumen, Rebecca served as a CPR Instructor for the American Heart Association, and as a nursing instructor at Lake Superior College. Yet throughout her nursing career, long-term care has always been her passion.
Born and raised in Duluth, Rebecca has two children and seven grandchildren.
Jennifer joined Ecumen in 2010 as a Nursing Assistant for several years before making the switch to Human Resources.
A Two Harbors native, Jennifer is married with two children. She enjoys camping, horseback riding, crafting and hunting. Jennifer is a member and volunteer of the Renegade Riders Saddle Club.
Mark Jones moved to Two Harbors, MN from Minnetonka, MN. He studied Facilities Management from the International Facilities Association with a Four degree and worked for the City of Plymouth for Twenty Four years prior to moving. Mark has been with Ecumen Care Center since moving for the last Three and half years as the Environmental Manager and really is enjoying being on the shores of Lake Superior. In his free time Mark loves hunting, fishing, four-wheeling and spending time with the family on Kane Lake twenty miles north of Two Harbors where his home is.
Life Enrichment Specialist
Renae started at Ecumen as a CNA in 2014 at the Care Center where she found her passion working with the elderly. She then started as a Life Enrichment Assistant in 2016 where she was then promoted to Life Enrichment Specialist at the Assisted Living. Renae is currently enrolled in an Activity Directing program at Ridgewater Community College that she plans to graduate from in May 2018. After that she plans to further her education in Gerontology.
Renae is a Two Harbors native and loves spending time with her family and pets. She has a dog Aussie Roo, cat Fiona, and ducks as well! Other hobbies include: Kayaking, camping, hunting, fishing, snowshoeing, and XC skiing.
Director of Nursing
Paige is a Registered Nurse, earning her Associates Degree in Nursing from Lake Superior College. She joined the Ecumen Scenic Shores Care Center team in 2017 as an RN Manager. In 2018, she was promoted to Director of Nursing. Paige is very passionate about helping others and truly enjoys interacting with residents, families and staff to brighten everyone’s days. Paige attributes her love for working with seniors to her close relationships with her grandparents growing up and to this day! Paige is appreciative and honored to be serving our senior citizens on the North Shore.
Paige is a Two Harbors native and is thrilled to be residing back in the area since 2017, after living near Cambridge, MN for several years. In her spare time, Paige enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, friends, family and pets. Paige is a proud “crazy cat and dog mom,” to her fur babies “Urijah, Princess, and Sully.”
